A majority of Americans say that texting and e-mailing at the dinner table is the worst faux-pas.
Researchers surveyed 1,000 adults about modern attitudes to etiquette and manners. They found that 56% said texting and e-mailing at the dinner table is the worst manner.
Only 14% said breaking up over text or instant message is worst, and just 7% thought the worst method was to do it over e-mail.
41% think men should always hold open doors for women while 60% usually agree to split the check when out to dinner with a date or friends.
