Oprah Winfrey is returning to the big screen in the role of freedom fighter Annie Lee Cooper.

The movie is called “Selma,” and it will focus on Martin Luther King's civil rights movement.

Oprah’s character, Alice Cooper, stood in line at the courthouse for hours back in 1965, trying to register to vote before she punched a sheriff and got arrested.

The movie also stars David Oyelowo, Tom Wilkinson, Cuba Gooding Jr. and Common.

Oprah is producing the movie along with Brad Pitt, and filming has already started in Atlanta.
