Tucson Chicks n’ Chaps, returns for their 7th annual “Behind the Chutes” V.I.P. Rodeo Clinics to raise funds for Arizona Oncology Foundation programs benefitting local breast cancer patients and their families, while promoting the sport of rodeo and the western lifestyle.
The event is on February 16, 2020, “Pink Day”, in conjunction with Tucson’s oldest tradition, the Tucson La Fiesta de Los Vaqueros Rodeo. Guests are treated to V.I.P “Behind the Chutes” experience with the famous animal athletes, and cowboys and cowgirls of the Rodeo, a Fashion Show, a Chuckwagon Brunch, Goodie Bags, Silent Auction and raffle opportunities for a day of fun and interactive, supportive activities! You can learn how the athletes in the sport of rodeo ride, rope, run the barrels, and much more!
According to the Chicks and Chaps chairwoman, Samantha Bivens, “All are welcome, if you were born in a saddle or have never even heard one country song, it doesn’t matter! Come join us for a day out you’ll never forget in a wholly unique, diverse, supportive and positive atmosphere.”
Over the last 6 years, the organization has donated more than $40,000 to local breast cancer programs, and this year they hope to raise even more money, beating last year’s donation of $11,000! Funds raised go to supporting purchases of wigs and camisoles, bras and prosthetics, peer and alternative therapies, self-esteem classes, housecleaning services, and gas-cards to help local breast cancer patients get to and from treatments and appointments. Wear nothing – but pink on Sunday, February 16, 2020 to the Tucson Rodeo.
