Alabama Forced To Cancel Two Shows Due To Randy Owen's Health Status

Alabama 50th Anniversary Tour - New Orleans, Louisiana

Alabama frontman Randy Owen's recent health complications have forced the band to cancel two scheduled tour performances, originally set for this upcoming weekend. Canadian fans in cities Ottawa and Oro-Medonte are having to press pause on attending their live show, while Owen takes the time to evaluate and sort everything out. The country rock band's manager Tony Conway opened up about the reports, giving insight to Randy's current medical situation.

Randy is currently under doctor’s care and being treated. We hope to return to both Ottawa and Oro-Medonte soon and apologize to all of the fans for not being able to perform.

The Big Sky Music Festival's official Twitter account gave further information on Randy's status, stating that severe vertigo and migraines are preventing him from giving his all on-stage. They also made a point to wish him well in recovery and anticipate hosting another performance from Alabama in the future.

We just received news from the band Alabama that co-founder and lead vocalist Randy Owen is suffering from severe vertigo and migraines. Randy is currently under doctor’s care and being treated. First and foremost, we wish him well as he recovers and we await another opportunity to host Alabama at Burl’s Creek.

According to Taste of Country, health complications have plagued Randy Owen in recent years. Back in 2010 the performer was diagnosed with prostate cancer, but fortunately overcame the disease with a successful treatment regimen.

The Country Music Hall of Famers are currently halfway through their 50th Anniversary Tour, which was initially scheduled to hit 50 dates over a nine month period and wrap in Nashville, Tennessee this November.
