The Santa Ana winds are in full effect right now and it doesn't look like they're dying down. Here is a rundown of the fires and the updates on them. If you are told to evacuate, DO IT. Stay SAFE!
(Ventura County) Thomas Fire - 90,000 acres and is 5% contained
Damage - 150 structures, and Cal Fire said 3,000 more are threatened.
Evacuations - More than 15,000 homes in Ventura County & 50,000 people
The city of Ventura imposed a curfew on residents until the state of emergency is lifted. The curfew, effective 10 p.m. to 5 a.m. prohibits people from being out in public places of the city, including streets and parks.
(Santa Clarita) Rye Fire - 7,000 acres & 5% contained
Damage - 150 structures, and Cal Fire said 3,000 more are threatened.
Evacuations - 1,300 homes in Westridge
(Bel-Air) Skirball Fire - 475 acres & 5% contained
Damage: 4 to 6 homes destroyed, 11 structures damaged
Evacuations: More than 100,000 homes
(Sylmar) Creek Fire - 11,377 acres and 5% contained
Damage: 30 structures destroyed, 2,500 residences threatened
Evacuations: 150,000 people
