Marvel is definitely in a slump right now, with a glut of movie and TV projects that have varied in quality and diluted the brand. Upcoming movies like "The Marvels" just aren't generating that much excitement.
They also have the problem of Jonathan Majors . . . who's all set up to play the MCU's next major villain, Kang. He's facing domestic violence charges that could very well result in Marvel cutting him loose.
So what's the solution? Well, rumor has it there have been talks to bring back the original "Avengers" for a new movie. That means Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, The Hulk, Black Widow, and Hawkeye.
As every true Marvel fan knows, Iron Man and Black Widow were killed off four years ago in "Avengers: Endgame". And Captain America traveled back in time to live a peaceful, domestic life with his lady friend, so he's now an old man.
Of course, they could always bring back variants of these characters from the "Multiverse". But no actual plans have been made yet.
